UK Recognizes Crypto as Property Under New Digital Assets Act

The UK has officially introduced the Property (Digital Assets etc.) Act 2025, formally classifying crypto assets as a new category of property. This legislation introduces a third type of personal property: digital assets, encompassing cryptocurrencies, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and other tokenized items. This act clarifies that digital assets can qualify for property rights even if they don’t fall under traditional legal categories such as possession or action.
