Sony Bank is poised to launch a US dollar-backed stablecoin in the United States as early as fiscal year 2026, according to Nikkei. This move aims to simplify payments within its entertainment and technology ecosystem, particularly for gaming and anime content. The token will maintain a 1:1 value with the US dollar, providing seamless digital transactions across Sony’s platforms.
