SEC Chair Optimistic About Progress on Digital Asset Regulation

SEC Chair Paul Atkins expressed confidence in advancing regulation for digital assets without the need for new legislation from Congress. In an interview with CNBC, he highlighted the SEC’s role in providing technical assistance as Congress debates digital asset regulations, particularly the market structure bill currently under consideration in the U.S. Senate. Despite challenges posed by the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, Atkins emphasized ongoing efforts to develop rules that will support the crypto sector. He asserted, ‘We have enough authority to drive forward,’ and expressed optimism about introducing an innovation exemption soon.
