Bitcoin & Altcoin Prices Surge Despite Volatility; Liquidations Reach $448 Million

Following a period of significant price drops last week, Bitcoin (BTC) and altcoins are experiencing a swift rebound. While Bitcoin dipped to $83,000, Ethereum (ETH) also fell to around $2,800. However, Bitcoin’s price recovered, reaching above $90,000 during the day, driven by robust buying activity. The cryptocurrency surged 2.4% in the last hour alone and a notable 5.8% in the past 24 hours, hitting $90,790. This surge is fueled by a massive buying wave, pushing Bitcoin closer to its highest daily gains since May 2025, as leveraged short liquidations contribute significantly to this rise. 50% of the total Liquidation value was for short positions in BTC and ETH in the past day alone, reaching $448 million.
