Interpol Identifies 60+ Countries Affected by Crypto Scams Tied to Human Trafficking

The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has declared crypto-enabled fraud a global criminal threat, responding to the rapid expansion of transnational scam centers. These centers exploit victims with promises of high-paying jobs before coercing them into compounds where they are forced to participate in schemes ranging from voice phishing and romance scams to investment fraud and cryptocurrency fraud. Victims often face brutal conditions including physical violence, torture, sexual exploitation, and rape.
