Bitcoin Holdings Discrepancy Raises Legal Questions in Qian Zhimin Case

Court documents reveal a significant discrepancy regarding Bitcoin holdings in the ongoing legal case against Qian Zhimin. According to reports from Foresight News and Chinese News Weekly, Qian purchased 194,951 bitcoins, surpassing the initial police identification of 61,000 bitcoins. However, the court has not disclosed details on the remaining 120,000 bitcoins. In an interview with British media, Detective Joe Lane from the London Police Department stated that Qian Zhimin claims to have lost access to a wallet containing 20,000 bitcoins, potentially resulting in a loss of approximately 12.5 billion yuan in today’s market value.
