Binance Suspends Ontology Network Transactions for Upgrade

Binance is temporarily suspending deposits and withdrawals of Ontology (ONT) tokens, starting December 1st, 2025, at approximately 7:00 AM UTC. This action will allow the platform to carry out a network upgrade and hard fork aimed at enhancing user experience. The upgrade is scheduled for December 1st, 2025. The Ontology network operates with two token models: Ontology (ONT) and Ontology Gas (ONG). Following the upgrade, significant changes in tokenomics are planned. Specifically, the maximum and total supply of Ontology Gas (ONG) will decrease from 1 billion to 800 million, with 200 million tokens being burned immediately. The circulating supply of ONG will remain unchanged following the event, but may potentially drop to around 750 million due to a permanent lock mechanism. Binance ensures no impact on trading during this period and handles technical requirements for seamless transition. Deposits and withdrawals will resume once the upgraded network is confirmed to be stable. No further announcements regarding reopening these services will be made; users should refer to the project team’s announcement for details.
