Michael Kratsios, the Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, sees this as a major project similar in scale to the Apollo program. The plan’s aim is to drive advancements in medicine, energy production, and engineering through AI analysis of vast datasets from the 17 national labs overseen by Energy Secretary Wright. The executive order mandates that research data and computing resources be made accessible to universities, private enterprises, and national security professionals, further fueling collaboration across sectors.
