Suspect Arrested for Crypto Exchange Robbery in St. Petersburg

On November 22, Russian authorities in St. Petersburg apprehended a 21-year-old suspect who allegedly committed a daring robbery at a cryptocurrency exchange office. The suspect reportedly detonated two fake grenades and a smoke bomb inside the facility before demanding that employees transfer all the exchange’s crypto assets to his personal wallet. He was subsequently charged with robbery and is currently in custody pending trial. It is believed the incident occurred at Yzex, an exchange suspected of being targeted by the perpetrator.
