Coinbase Acquires Solana Trading App Vector in DeFi Expansion Move

Coinbase announced its acquisition of Vector, a Solana-based on-chain trading platform known for its mobile-first interface and real-time meme coin trading. The deal was signed on November 21, 2025, with financial terms remaining undisclosed. It is expected to be finalized by year end, subject to regulatory approval. Upon completion, Vector’s standalone applications will shut down, but its 13-person team will join Coinbase to enhance Solana integration within the exchange. Vector allows users to mirror top traders’ positions and access newly launched tokens across Solana launchpads with near-instant detection and execution. This acquisition strengthens Coinbase’s decentralized exchange offerings by incorporating Vector’s high-speed infrastructure, leading to faster asset discovery and improved liquidity routing for Solana-based trading.
