The True Key to Cloud-Native Success: Intentional Infrastructure Design

After architecting distributed systems across AWS, GCP, and Azure for companies handling hundreds of thousands of transactions while maintaining 99.9% uptime, I’ve witnessed the cloud industry embrace multi-cloud as the inevitable future. Conferences discuss strategies around it. Vendors promise seamless workload portability. Engineering teams debate Kubernetes federation and cross-cloud networking solutions. However, achieving true success in this space requires a fundamental shift in thinking – from distributing workloads across clouds simply because we can, to strategically making intentional decisions about where those workloads run.
