Ethereum’s Kohaku Framework Takes Privacy to New Heights

Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin unveiled Kohaku, a groundbreaking privacy-preserving toolkit designed to enhance user protection within the Ethereum ecosystem. This open-source suite of tools was showcased during Devcon, marking a clear commitment from the Ethereum Foundation to privacy as a fundamental right, not an optional add-on. While Kohaku aims to build on existing privacy capabilities, Buterin acknowledged that further development is needed to reach the ultimate goal of achieving real-world privacy and security. This ‘last mile’ stage requires collaboration across wallets, infrastructure, and zero-knowledge systems, which Kohaku seeks to address.
