Richard Teng, CEO of Binance, emphasizes the importance of user vigilance, stating that legitimate communication regarding investments or funds will not be conducted through unofficial channels like WhatsApp. Binance has also highlighted how scammers are particularly active in Europe, with cases reported in countries like France and Italy where they offer misleading investment advice or request access to user funds under false pretenses. 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) is the recommended step to safeguard users’ accounts while Binance advises users to rely on their official website, verified social media channels, and app for authentic information. By remaining vigilant and checking message authenticity before responding, users can thwart potential scams effectively.
