Zhou Boxian, a prominent financial influencer in Hong Kong, has been sentenced to six weeks in prison for providing unlicensed investment advice. This marks the first instance of such punishment in Hong Kong, as authorities have taken swift action against Zhou’s actions. The case involved a subscription-based social media group where he offered investment tips, leading to his conviction by the Eastern Magistrates’ Court. The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission confirmed Zhou garnered a total income of 43,680 Hong Kong dollars from the group members.
