Spain’s Renewable Energy Institute Sells $10 Million in Bitcoin After 10-Year Hold

Spain’s Institute of Technology and Renewable Energies (ITER) is poised to sell a substantial portion of its cryptocurrency holdings, an investment that has grown to over $10 million since it was acquired over a decade ago. The sale involves approximately 97 Bitcoin initially purchased in 2012 for €10,000. The institute now plans to offload the Bitcoin through negotiated channels with a certified financial institution operating within Spain’s regulatory framework.
