U.S. Sanctions North Korean Crypto Network, Cutting Off Funds for Nuclear Weapons Program

The U.S. Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on eight individuals and two entities linked to North Korea’s cryptocurrency network that were allegedly used for illicit money laundering activities. The sanctioned entities are believed to have laundered over $3 billion in funds, which are now being restricted from entering the global financial system.
