Google and YouTube Settle $30 Million Over Children’s Privacy Concerns

Alphabet subsidiaries Google and YouTube have agreed to a $30 million settlement addressing privacy law violations affecting children under 13 who used YouTube between 2013 and 2020. The case, titled Hubbard v. Google, was resolved in the Northern District of California, with legal counsel provided by Silver Golub & Teitell LLP and Pritzker Levine LLP. While Google denies wrongdoing, they opted for a settlement to avoid further litigation. This settlement is separate from previous FTC fines and doesn’t have a direct impact on cryptocurrencies or digital assets.
