The app is set to compete directly with Telegram and WhatsApp, according to Foresight News. Expected to launch in the coming months, X Chat will be available independently from its parent application, X, after being restructured into a standalone entity.
Musk expressed his dissatisfaction with current communication apps like WhatsApp, criticizing their use of end-to-end encryption while retaining user data for advertising purposes. He believes this undermines privacy. In contrast, X Chat utilizes peer-to-peer encryption technology similar to Bitcoin, ensuring that no information is available to advertisers for exploitation.
