The ongoing U.S. government shutdown has already inflicted $18 billion in economic damage as the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projects further declines in Gross Domestic Product (GDP). If the shutdown continues, this potential loss could reach a staggering $39 billion, according to the CBO.
