UAE Investors Show Strong Demand for Digital Assets, Shifting Away From Traditional Finance

A new study from Avaloq reveals a growing trend in the UAE: high-net-worth investors are increasingly interested in digital assets. The research, conducted by the Swiss software company and focusing on 3,851 investors and 456 wealth management professionals across the region, found that while 39% of surveyed wealthy clients hold cryptocurrencies, a surprising number – only 20% – use traditional wealth management institutions. This shift highlights the need for financial services to evolve alongside digital innovations, with more than half of investors either altering their management structures or contemplating change, largely driven by unanswered questions surrounding cryptocurrencies.
