Former FTX US President, Brett Harrison, is launching a new platform for perpetual futures trading in traditional markets. His company, Architect Financial Technologies, has received authorization from the Bermuda Monetary Authority to operate through its subsidiary, Architect Bermuda Ltd. AX will allow traders to engage in leveraged bets on diverse assets including currencies, interest rates, single stocks, stock indexes, metals, and energy. 🗣️ ‘The market structure resembles modern derivative assets but applies to traditional asset classes,’ Harrison stated. The team plans to add more perpetual contracts later, focusing on AI-related assets like rare earth metals, renewable energy, and data center costs. AX is the world’s first centralized and regulated exchange for perpetual futures on traditional assets, operating 24/7 for continuous trading. The platform accepts both fiat currency and stablecoin collateral for seamless participation. Harrison boasts deep finance expertise, having worked at Citadel Securities and Jane Street before joining FTX US. However, the future of perpetual futures in the U.S. remains uncertain pending approval from regulatory bodies. A recent example is Cboe Global Markets’ plan to launch similar Bitcoin and Ether contracts later this year.
