Switzerland Proposes New Regulations for Crypto Institutions

The Swiss Federal Council has proposed amendments to the Financial Institutions Act (FinIA), seeking to modernize the country’s financial regulatory framework while ensuring stability and consumer protection in the crypto space. The proposed changes target stablecoin issuers and cryptocurrency institutions, introducing new licensing requirements and oversight mechanisms.
