Bitcoin: Record Institutional Demand Outpaces Mining in 2025

New data reveals a significant imbalance in the Bitcoin market, where institutional demand has surged beyond mining output by more than seven times in 2025. This suggests major investors are aggressively accumulating Bitcoin despite its limited supply, according to Bitwise, Bloomberg, and Glassnode. Specifically, institutional buyers have purchased nearly 975,600 BTC year-to-date while only 136,500 BTC have been mined over the same period. This significant demand imbalance points to a structural shift in Bitcoin accumulation behavior.
