Western Union Tests Stablecoin-Based Payment System for Enhanced Remittance Efficiency

Western Union is taking a bold step towards blockchain integration with the launch of a pilot program utilizing stablecoins to settle payments, aiming to modernize global remittance processes and reduce reliance on traditional banking. The initiative was announced by CEO Devin McGranahan during Western Union’s Q3 2025 earnings call on October 23rd.
