Rumble Teams Up with Tether for Bitcoin Tips to Boost Content Creator Earnings

Video-sharing platform Rumble is set to launch Bitcoin tipping for its large user base, with the company’s CEO Chris Pavlovski confirming the integration at the Plan ₿ Forum in Switzerland. The move will leverage partnerships with stablecoin issuer Tether to allow users to send Bitcoin (BTC) directly to creators.          Rumble is currently running a testing phase and plans to roll out full functionality by early to mid-December following bug fixes and UX refinements. An initial example of the tipping process was showcased in a video on X, where content creator David Freiheit received the first tip through Rumble’s Wallet.

The integration could be crucial for Bitcoin’s adoption as a payment method, given the size of Rumble’s audience and its anti-censorship stance, which resonates with many within the Bitcoin community. While institutional investment has contributed to this latest bull run, mainstream use of Bitcoin as payment has yet to break through.

However, Rumble’s platform may play a significant role in driving adoption given its content creation focus on online videos. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino believes Bitcoin and stablecoins can empower creators by offering them the security of not being penalized for their expression due to censorship.

Tether’s investment in Rumble last December, worth $775 million, has enabled this integration and highlights Rumble’s active involvement in the crypto space. Rumble is also working with MoonPay, a cryptocurrency payments firm, to offer crypto wallets and make Bitcoin tip collection more accessible for creators.
