T. Rowe Price Enters Crypto ETF Market with Active Fund Filing

Conservative asset manager T. Rowe Price has surprised analysts by filing to launch an actively managed crypto exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the US. This unexpected move could disrupt their largely mutual fund-based offerings, which have faced outflows worth tens of billions of dollars recently. 5 to 15 cryptocurrencies from the SEC’s generic listing standards like Bitcoin and Ether will be included in the fund, according to their S-1 filing. This strategy aims to outperform the FTSE Crypto US Listed Index, with weighting based on fundamental analysis, valuation, and momentum.
