Stablecoins: Potential Revolution for Global Payments, Says Bank of Japan Official

Bank of Japan Deputy Governor Ryozo Himino believes stablecoins could reshape global payments systems. He suggests they may even partially replace traditional bank deposits, as non-bank financial institutions currently hold half the assets in the global financial system. Despite advancements by regulators, further progress is needed to fully realize this potential.
