North Korea Launches New Cryptocurrency Attack with ‘OtterCookie’ Malware

North Korean hackers are ramping up their cyberattacks targeting cryptocurrency users, leveraging a new malware named ‘OtterCookie’ to steal sensitive data and funds. The campaign involves disguising malicious software as legitimate crypto applications and npm packages, luring unsuspecting individuals into download traps. Once installed, the malware secretly collects keystrokes, screenshots, clipboard content, and wallet information from popular extensions like Metamask. These stolen credentials are then used to drain cryptocurrency directly from victims’ hot wallets.
