Musk Could Build $65 Billion Putin-Trump Alaska Tunnel, Cutting Cost Significantly

A proposed tunnel linking Russia and the United States has sparked renewed interest in a long-held concept for improved trade and resource development across both continents. Kirill Dmitriev, representing President Vladimir Putin and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), unveiled plans for a 112 km rail link between Chukotka and Alaska. This project aims to create new trade routes and facilitate economic cooperation between Russia and the United States while minimizing costs by utilizing advanced tunneling technology from Elon Musk’s The Boring Company, potentially reducing the estimated cost from $65 billion to under $8 billion.
