Ghana Set to Legalize Crypto by December 2025

Ghana has taken a decisive step towards legalizing and regulating cryptocurrency, aiming for completion by December 2025. This shift marks a significant move toward embracing digital assets, aligning with other African nations in their efforts to govern cryptocurrencies. The Bank of Ghana (BoG) announced its plans to introduce a regulatory framework for virtual assets by the end of the year. Governor Johnson Asiama highlighted the extensive preparation undertaken over the last four months to establish a regulatory environment for digital assets.
