Florida Seeks to Invest in Bitcoin and Other Crypto, Passes New Bill

Florida House Representative Webster Barnaby has refiled a crypto reserve bill, expanding its scope beyond just investing in Bitcoin to encompass digital asset exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The legislation, Florida House Bill 183, allows up to 10% of certain public funds, including pension assets, to be allocated to these digital assets. Additionally, the bill introduces new custody, documentation, and fiduciary standards for holding and lending these assets. 🇺🇸 This new bill marks the first strategic Bitcoin reserve effort in Florida during the 2026 legislative session.
