Florida Reboots Crypto Reserve Bill After Previous Attempt Fails

A revised bill aimed at allowing Florida to invest in digital assets like Bitcoin and crypto ETFs has been introduced by Rep. Webster Barnaby, following the withdrawal of his initial proposal in June. The new bill, HB 183, proposes allocating up to 10% of state funds for investment in digital assets such as Bitcoin (BTC), crypto exchange-traded products, and other blockchain-based ventures. Key additions include expanded criteria for holding and lending digital assets, and a broader range of assets to diversify Florida’s investments beyond solely Bitcoin.
