OpenTensor Foundation Revamps Bittensor Subnet Registration

The OpenTensor Foundation has made adjustments to the Bittensor subnet registration and deregistration process. The new system limits subnets to 128, with newly registered ones replacing those with the lowest performance scores. These new measures aim to foster competition by granting teams a four-month immunity period during their initial testing phase before facing public scrutiny. In addition, any unutilized TAO from de-registered subnets will be proportionally distributed to alpha holders, unlocking locked liquidity and directing it towards more active areas of the network. Finally, registration of new subnets now incurs a destruction cost instead of a locking cost, currently set at 2500 TAO.
