UXLINK Launches First Token Buyback to Recover from $11.3 Million Hack

UXLINK is taking proactive steps toward recovery after a significant security breach that led to a $11.3 million loss. The blockchain-based social platform will initiate its first community-approved token buyback, leveraging funds recovered from exchanges like Bybit and Bitget. This move, scheduled for October 18th-19th, will be funded by assets recovered from the breach. UXLINK’s plan also includes additional buybacks as they receive more frozen funds from cooperating platforms. The company has outlined a detailed compensation plan, which prioritizes fairness for both on-chain and exchange users, based on a community-approved snapshot taken on September 22nd. This initial buyback is just one step in a comprehensive recovery effort involving enhanced security measures, including hardware wallet integrations and strengthened bug bounty programs, aimed at restoring trust and user engagement.
