DOJ Seizes $15 Billion in Bitcoin: Largest Forfeit Boosts US Strategic Reserve

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced the largest forfeiture action in its history, seizing 127,271 Bitcoin (BTC) worth an estimated $15 billion from Chen Zhi, founder of the Prince Group. This seizure, part of a civil forfeiture complaint filed on October 14, brings total US government Bitcoin holdings to over $37 billion and bolsters the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve established by President Trump’s executive order in March.
