Android Vulnerability Risks Crypto Security: Pixel Users Targeted

A newly discovered vulnerability in Android systems poses a serious threat to the security of sensitive information, including crypto wallet recovery phrases and two-factor authentication (2FA) codes. The attack, dubbed ‘Pixnapping,’ exploits application programming interfaces (APIs) to access content displayed by other applications on Android devices. This allows malware to bypass typical browser safety measures and potentially compromise non-browser apps. The process works by manipulating a specific pixel’s color within a semi-transparent overlay controlled by the attacker, enabling them to infer and reconstruct sensitive information over time.
