Citi Plans 2026 Launch of Crypto Custody Service

Citigroup is gearing up to launch a crypto asset custody service in 2026, a significant step forward as Wall Street increasingly embraces digital assets. The initiative comes after the bank invested over two to three years in developing the infrastructure required for managing digital assets. Biswarup Chatterjee, Citi’s global head of partnerships and innovation, anticipates the service becoming available within the next few quarters, allowing asset managers and institutional clients secure access to cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
