EU Central Bank Governor Proposes Unified Crypto Regulation for the Entire Union

French Central Bank Governor Francois Villeroy de Galhau has called for a unified approach to regulating cryptocurrencies within the European Union (EU). In his recent speech, he suggested transferring regulatory authority over the cryptocurrency industry to the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), aiming to standardize practices across all 27 member states. He argued that this move would help address concerns about inconsistencies in regulations and allow for smoother operations across the EU.
