Crypto ETP Inflows Surge Past 2024 Total in a Record-Breaking Year

Cryptocurrency investment products have hit a major milestone, exceeding the total gains recorded in 2024. Global exchange-traded products (ETPs) for cryptocurrencies have pulled in $48.67 billion this year so far, surpassing the full-year record from 2024, according to CoinShares research head James Butterfill. He highlighted this news on X, formerly Twitter. In contrast, the crypto ETP space in 2024 saw just $44.2 billion in inflows, fueled primarily by the introduction of spot crypto ETFs in the United States. The latest surge is driven by record-breaking weekly inflows of $5.95 billion last week, with Bitcoin (BTC) accounting for a substantial $3.6 billion of that total. Bitcoin remains the dominant force within this sector, but its influence is declining compared to 2024.
