Kazakhstan Shuts Down Dozens of Crypto Platforms; Seizes $17 Million in Illegal Activities

Kazakhstan, a rising cryptocurrency hub in Central Asia, has taken action against illicit activity in the sector by shutting down numerous crypto platforms this year. The Financial Monitoring Agency (AFM) has removed 130 such platforms for involvement in money laundering schemes, according to AFM representatives. Authorities have also seized $16.7 million in cryptocurrency linked to these illegal operations.
