U.S. Stock Futures Climb Amidst Inflation Data

U.S. stock index futures saw gains on Thursday as inflation data provided insight aligning with market expectations, suggesting the Federal Reserve may cut interest rates this year. The Consumer Price Index (CPI), representing overall price changes, rose 2.9% from a year ago in August, matching analysts’ predictions. A monthly CPI increase of 0.4% was also recorded, surpassing the expected 0.3% rise. Notably, excluding volatile food and energy components, core CPI increased by 3.1%. Meanwhile, initial jobless claims in the U.S. for the week ending September 6 climbed to 263,000, exceeding estimates of 235,000, as per reports.
