SEC Launches ‘Project Crypto’ for a Unified Approach to Cryptocurrency Regulations

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched ‘Project Crypto,’ a comprehensive effort to modernize U.S. securities regulations for cryptocurrency assets. The initiative seeks to clarify the classification of crypto tokens, establish a unified regulatory framework, and pave the way for increased innovation in the U.S. crypto sector. SEC Chair Paul S. Atkins announced the launch at the OECD Global Financial Markets Roundtable, emphasizing that this modernized approach will prevent hurdles to innovation and foster greater adoption of digital assets.
