Palau Financial Invests $1.5 Billion in Bitcoin Restaking Platform SatLayer

Palau-based financial institution Palau Financial has made a significant commitment to the future of Bitcoin, allocating up to $1.5 billion in Bitcoin reserves to SatLayer’s restaking protocol over the next six months. This landmark investment marks one of the largest institutional commitments to Bitcoin restaking and underscores Palau Financial’s support for the growing $SLAY token ecosystem.

SatLayer, built on the Babylon Chain, allows Bitcoin holders to leverage their assets by restaking BTC and Bitcoin liquid staking tokens (LSTs) in exchange for rewards while contributing to decentralized services. Restakers earn yield not only through these benefits but also strengthen the security of Bitcoin Validated Services (BVS), which are tied to SatLayer’s native token $SLAY, playing a key role in network governance and incentives.

“Bitcoin is evolving beyond just digital gold; it’s becoming the backbone of decentralized finance,” stated Kartik Jain, Managing Partner at Palau Financial. “Our investment of $1.5 billion reflects our belief in Bitcoin’s future and SatLayer’s potential to unlock new yield opportunities within the growing $SLAY ecosystem.”

This announcement comes as Palau takes center stage in the crypto world with its rapid rise as a crypto-friendly nation, driven by the groundbreaking Digital Residency Program (RNS) which has attracted influential figures like venture capitalist Tim Draper and Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.
