U.S. Targets 19 Entities for Role in Cryptocurrency Investment Scams from Southeast Asia

The U.S. Department of the Treasury has taken action against 19 entities based in Myanmar and Cambodia that are alleged to be involved in cryptocurrency investment scams targeting American investors. These operations have defrauded Americans of an estimated $10 billion in the past year, according to a press release issued on September 8th. The schemes reportedly forced human trafficking victims into carrying out these illicit activities.
