Crypto Phishing Scams Skyrocket, $12 Million Lost in August

In August 2025, cryptocurrency users suffered over $12 million in losses due to phishing scams, a troubling 72% jump from the previous month. These scams mainly targeted Ethereum wallets and highlight vulnerabilities in crypto security. Scam Sniffer, a Web3 anti-scam service, identified EIP-7702 signature scams as particularly prevalent, impacting users by exploiting blockchain innovations in Ethereum.
