The XRP army, a group of Ripple supporters, played a significant role in the recent outcome of the SEC lawsuit against Ripple. Crypto lawyer John Deaton asserts that their efforts directly impacted the case, leading to Ripple’s successful dismissal of the appeals and eventual settlement with the SEC. Judge Analisa Torres’ decision to rule on XRP as not being a security was heavily influenced by witness testimonies and submissions from the XRP army. 2000+ exhibits were submitted during the trial, including amicus briefs and affidavits, highlighting the impact of the army’s efforts. Deaton believes that without this input from the XRP army, the case might have gone in a different direction. Ripple’s vice president Deborah McCrimmon also acknowledged the invaluable contribution of the XRP army, stating they helped provide crucial information and context to the court regarding the broader implications of blockchain and crypto regulation.
