Stripe and Paradigm Launch Private Testnet for Stablecoin Payments

Stripe and Paradigm’s new payment blockchain platform, Tempo, has launched a private testnet focused on stablecoin transactions. Designed to facilitate real-world payments, Tempo offers low-cost transactions, support for various stablecoins as means of paying fees and transferring funds, optional privacy features, and a transaction capacity exceeding 100,000 TPS. Initial partners include companies like Anthropic, Coupang, Deutsche Bank, DoorDash, Lead Bank, Mercury, Nubank, OpenAI, Revolut, Shopify, Standard Chartered Bank, and Visa. Applications for Tempo span global payments, payroll distribution, embedded financial accounts, cross-border remittances, tokenized deposits with 24/7 settlement, micropayments, and payments for intelligent agents. Developed on the Reth framework, Tempo leverages compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
