Artificial Intelligence startup Scale AI has filed a lawsuit against its former employee, Eugene Ling, accusing him of corporate espionage. The company claims that Ling stole over 100 confidential documents containing proprietary information and strategic customer management details while working at the company. Ling is currently employed by rival firm Mercor, one of Scale AI’s top competitors in the rapidly evolving AI sector. Scale AI alleges that Ling used his position to gain access to sensitive materials from the company’s customers and attempted to lure them away to join Mercor before resigning. The lawsuit highlights the growing challenges within the AI industry as firms compete fiercely for talent, resources, and market share.
