OKX Faces $2.6 Million Penalty from Dutch National Bank Over Registration Lapse

Global cryptocurrency exchange OKX has been fined €2.25 million (approximately $2.6 million) by the Dutch National Bank for operating in the Netherlands without proper registration between July 2023 and August 2024. The penalty comes after a lack of compliance with Dutch law, which requires registration before providing services to customers within the country. However, OKX has since obtained a MiCA license, enabling full operation under EU regulatory framework.
