Ethereum Execution Client Faces Stagnation After Error

A recent error in Paradigm’s Ethereum Reth execution client caused a temporary stagnation of nodes, according to Foresight News reports. The vulnerability was identified on their GitHub page and impacted versions 1.6.0 and 1.4.8 of Ethereum mainnet at block height 2327426. While Paradime’s CTO, Konstantopoulos, provided recovery commands for operators, the root cause of this specific error remains unknown. 5.4% of all execution layer clients utilize Reth, highlighting the impact on a relatively small portion of the network. Paradigm is actively investigating the source of the vulnerability while continuing to analyze its effects.
